Health & Safety Policy

Opera House Arts puts the safety of our audiences and artists at the heart of all we do, therefore we have implemented the following Health & Safety Policy.

All patrons will need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine in order to attend an indoor performance and must show proof of vaccination at their time of entry into Opera House Arts’ facilities.

The following are acceptable as proof of vaccination:

  • Vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided, and date last dose administered).

  • A photo copy of a vaccination card as a separate document.

  • A photo of the vaccination card stored on a phone or electronic device.

  • Together with the proof of vaccination, guests 18 years or older may also be asked to present a government-issued photo ID. Guests younger than 18 may use a government-issued photo ID or school photo ID.

“Fully vaccinated” means the performance date must be at least 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after a single-dose vaccine.

Exceptions will be made for guests who need reasonable accommodations due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief. In those cases, guests must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time, or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time. The following are acceptable as proof of a negative COVID-19 test result:

  • Printed document (from the test provider or laboratory). The information provided should include the name of person tested, type of test performed, and date of negative test result.

  • An email or text message displayed on phone or electronic device from the test provider or laboratory. The information provided should include the name of person tested, type of test performed, and date of negative test result

Exceptions will also be made for children under the age that allows for vaccination, who are accompanied by an adult who meets the above vaccination requirements.

For your safety, as well as our artists and staff, the Opera House will not admit any guests who do not provide the documentation required above.

All patrons understand that there is a risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. Those purchasing tickets and attending Opera House events voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.

Patrons are encouraged to wear a mask throughout their time at the Opera House’s indoor events and performances.

Hand sanitizer stations are available at easy to access areas of the lobby. Patrons are encouraged to frequently sanitize their hands where hand washing is not possible.

We encourage all persons to stay home if they are not feeling well and respect the space of others when at the theatre.

The protocols outlined above allow the Opera House to safely operate at full audience capacity. As such, there will not be physical distancing between parties in the theater.

We will continue to follow the most up to date COVID-19 Guidances from the State of Maine and the Centers for Disease Control, along with monitoring the health of our community and adapting as needed.

Thank you for your understanding as we continue to navigate the pandemic together.
